Meghan and Harry mocked over Labrador dog’s name that has ‘rude’ meaning

The Sussex duo found themselves mocked relentlessly over a Labrador dog's name that had a "rude" meaning behind it.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were presumably red in the face after the Romanian meaning behind their lovely pup's name was revealed to them, and it was tweeted about relentlessly.

Their lovely Labrador Pula, named after the currency of Botswana, left Romanian fans of the Royal Family in stitches after they revealed a slang meaning for the name.

One person labelled the name as "quite the shock" when the pair brought the dog into the limelight three years ago, with Pula used as slang for male genitalia.

Social media users had a field day with the name which allegedly had a slang meaning for penis, with one writing: "Surely someone in their group would have Googled Pula to ensure it wasn’t Romanian for penis?"

But the reason behind the Pula name for their dog is quite the sweet one, even if it does make accidental reference to male genitalia.

The Duke and Duchess had spent time dating in Africa just weeks after meeting one another and were clearly moved by their time there.

They used the name of the currency in Botswana as a title for their dog, a touching tribute to their time together, and also to male members across the globe.

Lines from a book released at the time by the Sussex's biographer Omid Scobie, Finding Freedom detailed the pair's time together, with Meghan apparently "spellbound" by the Duke.

The book added: "Still their chemistry had been electric throughout the meal as they both flirted. A touch of an arm here, direct eye contact there."

Their chemistry will not be available at the Coronation though, as The Daily Star previously reported Meghan would be passing up on her invitation to King Charles' big day.

Her absence from the Coronation was described as a "brilliant strategy" by royal expert Kristen Meinzer.
