King Charles left ‘knackered’ after weekend of Coronation parties, source claims

King Charles III is "exhausted" and "knackered" following the Coronation and a weekend of parties, according to a source close to him.

Millions around the world watched Charles become the 40th monarch crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday (May 6).

It was followed by a procession to Buckingham Palace and the star-studded Coronation concert on Sunday (May 7).

There is also to be a garden party at Charles' official Scotland residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

It would appear the 74-year-old monarch is tired after getting through the hectic Coronation schedule.

Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl has revealed what those close to the King are saying after this weekend.

She told GB News: "I spoke to someone close to the King this morning. I said, 'how is he feeling', because he did a pre-party, pre-concert party and then after-party and did that skit for American Idol – you know, brilliant.

"The source said, 'exhausted but knackered' and I'm not surprised, they need a good rest now because it has been a pretty epic weekend for them.

"Saturday was the day that he's waited his entire life for. You imagine the emotional energy that goes into a day like that, but I think overall it has been a great success."

‌Charles isn't the only one feeling knackered at the moment as thousands of Brits headed to pubs and clubs last night to make the most of the bumper Bank Holiday weekend.

With no fear of needing to get up today (Monday, May 8) for work, revellers maintained the Coronation celebrations well into the early hours.

Many pulled out their fanciest outfits, fit for royalty, or donned Union Jack-themed clothing to mark the historic occasion.
