A tourist submersible, which is frequently used to explore the Titanic debris, was reported missing, prompting the launch of a search and rescue operation in the Atlantic Ocean.

On Monday, a search operation for the submersible was underway, the Boston Coastguard informed the BBC.

Uncertainty surrounds how many people, if any, were on board the submersible when it vanished.

On occasion, these tiny submersibles are used to give paid guests the chance to visit and examine the Titanic wreck.
